Lana Shepherd

Director

Hello, I'm Lana L Shepherd. I am the director of Kennewick Christian School. I started this position in November 2023. I am a Native of Florida and moved to Washington thirty years ago. Me and my husband have three college-aged sons. Ever since I was young, I have had a love for teaching children. For nine years I was employed in the Richland School District as a ECAP Paraeducator. Here at Kennewick Christian School, we will try our best to help your child meet or exceed their milestones in education, while providing a safe and clean environment.

Anahi Chavez

Preschool Lead Teacher

Hello my name is Anahi (ana-ee) Chavez Garcia, I am the Lead Preschool Teacher. I've lived in the Tri-Cities my whole life. I started here at KCS in Oct. of 2022 and made my way up to the lead position in Aug. of 2023. I'm going into my second year of teaching as I just graduated my first preschool class!!! I am bilingual and incorporating Spanish is something I am looking forward to this coming fall. My assistants and I strive to create a safe stimulating learning environment for all the kiddos! In my class we use Teaching Strategies and The Creative Curriculum. Your kiddos will learn their shapes, colors, numbers, life skills, social skills and more! Creating a routine is essential for healthy learning and we are determined to establish that for your child(ren). We're excited to see all the new faces this year. Welcome to KCS!!!

Hello, my name is Valeria Alvarez. I am the Lead Toddler Teacher here at Kennewick Christian School. I love teaching the future generation of children because they are the future of this world! I believe learning through play, is the best way. Your child will learn many things in my classroom, and I will work with you and your child to create a routine to strive for excellence.

Hello, my name is Dana and I have been working with Kennewick Christian School for 20 plus years now, and I love it! I have always enjoyed working with children and helping them grow and learn. I have been in education for a long time now, and hope to continue learning new ways to teach children!

Hi my name is Sierra Contreras. I love cooking healthy and nutritious meals for the kids! My love for cooking started just around the age 6. My dad was the best cook in the world and I strive to be just as great!

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Hi, my name is Frida Villamar. I am 18 years old and I enjoy working here at Kennewick Christian School. I love working with kids and currently I am enrolled at Columbia Basin College for early childhood education to become a teacher. I hope stay here as long as possible and keep building strong connections with everyone here.
